1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide or generate while using resumeNivo, including:
- Account details supplied through sign-in, such as your name, email address, and authentication identifier.
- Career-profile and resume content, including contact details, employment, education, skills, projects, certifications, languages, and profile images.
- Job titles, company names, job descriptions, target keywords, selected templates, and ATS-analysis results.
- Support communications and feedback you send to us.
- Basic technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service, such as device, browser, IP address, timestamps, and error logs.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain accounts; create, edit, store, preview, and export resumes; initialize resumes from career profiles; compare resumes with job descriptions; produce ATS feedback; respond to support requests; prevent misuse; troubleshoot errors; and improve reliability and usability.
3. Legal grounds and your choices
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, comply with legal obligations, or act with your consent. You may decline optional information, but some features may then be unavailable.
4. Authentication, resume import, and service providers
Uploaded resume files are processed in memory for import and the original file is not retained or placed in object storage. Extracted profile data and limited import metadata may be retained so you can review and confirm it. When you explicitly consent and AI import is enabled, extracted text and layout information—not the binary document—may be sent to our configured AI provider. Optional text recognition may use Amazon Textract when enabled. We may also use third parties for authentication, hosting, database storage, infrastructure, and monitoring. We do not sell your resume content or job descriptions.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain account and resume information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and backups, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can delete individual resumes in the product. To request account deletion or another privacy action, contact us. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a secure account and avoid adding unnecessary sensitive information to resumes or job descriptions.
7. International processing
resumeNivo may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate measures intended to protect information transferred across borders.
8. Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot legally consent to its processing.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information, and to withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
